Today is the Day!! I joined in Diane of Suburban Girl Studios Waxed Linen Blog Hop & today is the reveal!! I just recently started working with waxed linen cord & selling it the bead shows, due to the high number of my customers that asked if I carried it, so I took the plunge....& the following is the result!! I'm loving all the colors it's available in & how well it knots.
For the Blog Hop I decided to use the following Materials:

Pewter Toggle

The ceramic pieces I used from Marsha Neal Studio are from her collection of beads that I sell at the bead shows, Thank You very much Marsha, I've been dying to use these disks in a finished piece of jewelry!! & they're paired with seed beads from a dear friend of both Marsha & I, Leslie of Twisted Sistah Beads & Fiber!! I had no choice but to include Leslie's favorite color seed bead - Matte Khaki Iris - for which Leslie calls it "the New Black"!!
This is a big step out of the box for me jewelry wise, in that this is my first asymmetrical necklace! Yikes, I've been making jewelry for 14 years, selling at bead shows since 2006 & this is the first one!! Well better late then never right, I hope you enjoy it!! In the next coming weeks I will be listing new kits on my Etsy shop as well as some other supplies I carry at the bead shows including the Irish Waxed Linen!! Check out my Etsy Shop in the next couple weeks or come visit me at a bead show in the Northeast - check out my show schedule posted on the left side of my blog page!!

ReplyDeleteWow! This is such a fantastic design! I love the asymmetry and the multiple strands of linen cord. It gives the piece a full look with great texture. I also like the macrame section on the side. The variation in knotting techniques adds lots of interest. An amazing job for your first asymmetrical piece. I never would have guessed that!
